Course objectives
This course introduces statistical methods for data analysis and modelling
Special attention will be paid to the development of practical abilities for data analysis through the use of the R language. Course arguments will be illustrated on real data about science, technology, economics, and social disciplines.
Pre-requirements
Basic concepts of Probability at the level of an introductory undergraduate course.

Given the emphasis on applications, a consistent part of the lessons will be taught in the computer lab through the R, a free software environment for statistical computing and graphics (www.r-project.org).
