Discover the itineraries of Ca’ Foscari Tour, the University’s guided tour service to appreciate and know the historical Venetian buildings where Ca’ Foscari has its premises: an exclusive tour through Ca’ Foscari’s and Ca’ Dolfin’s most representative spaces, between frescoes, gardens and panoramic views of the Grand Canal. Choose your itinerary.

 

Itinerary

A 1-hour tour through the most representative locations of Ca’ Foscari, historical seat of the University. It starts from the suggestive courtyards to continue with the Historical Library exhibition, where you can discover the history of Ca’ Foscari palace and of the University through unpublished archival documents. The main part of the visit is the beautiful Aula Baratto designed by Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa in the 1930s and 1950s with its unique view of the Grand Canal. The tour ends at Ca’ Foscari’s ground floor, exiting through the water door on the bend of the Grand Canal.

Obligatory reservation by email at the address cafoscaritour@unive.it or by calling the phone number +39 041 234 8036 at least 2 working days in advance, in the opening times of the Public Relations Unit.
Tickets are sold at the Public Relations Unit 15 minutes before the beginning of the tour. Only cash payment is accepted.

Visitors with disabilities are advised to visit the building with an accompanying helper and are kindly requested to book the tour with adequate advance.

Itinerary

With this 75 minutes tour of Ca' Foscari and Ca' Dolfin, it is possible to discover the spaces and the history of the two most important seats of the University. The itinerary starts from the Ca' Foscari courtyards with a visit to the Historical Library exhibition and to the beautiful Aula Baratto designed by Carlo Scarpa, and continues at Ca' Dolfin building in front of Ca' Foscari. Ca’ Dolfin, a 16th century building, hosts the beautiful Aula Magna Silvio Trentin, decorated with 18th century frescos and allows visitors to admire a unique view of the Frari Basilica.

On Friday November 18th, coinciding with Graduation Day, graduands and their guests will be able visit the historical seat of the University for free, guided by the Ca' Foscari Tour staff. During the tour it will be possible to access Ca' Foscari's most exclusive spaces.

How to apply

Please send an e-mail to cafoscaritour@unive.it by Novembert 17th at 12 am (noon), indicating "Graduation Day" in the subject, choosing the time of your guided tour and the number of participants. Friends and relatives of graduands who do not have reserved seats in Saint Mark's square can participate too. Tours available while places last.
