Educational Goals
The fundamental tools for the assessment of uncertainty and statistical learning in economics and business contexts are introduced. More specifically, the course provides the foundations of statistical data analysis and probability theory.

The whole syllabus for the 12 credit course is the following:
1. Introduction to the analysis of randomness.
2. Introduction to probability theory.
3. Discrete and continuous random variables.
4. Bivariate discrete random variables and measures of dependence.
5. Sampling methods.
6. Sample statistics, limit theorems.
7. Point and interval estimation.
8. Statistical tests.
9. Contingency tables and dependence.
10. Simple linear regression model.
