Ideally, students should be familiar with the history of English literature of the last three centuries.

Contents

Title: "From ALICE to HARRY POTTER: children's literature in the last three centuries"

The module will focus on the development of the history of children’s literature (themes, genres, criticism) of the last three centuries, with special attention to the genre of the literary fairy tale and fantasy.

The exam will cover all issues included in assigned reading, lectures and texts dowloaded from the “pagina docente” of the university website.

Students are advised to read ALICE IN WONDERLAND and PETER PAN before the beginning of the course.

Students unable to attend classes are required to contact Prof. Tosi in her office hours at least 2 months before the exam, in order to discuss an additional reading list.
