Bibliographic Catalogue
Together with those of 26 Venetian libraries, Ca' Foscari online catalogue is part of the collective catalogue of the Venetian Library Service, a local component of the National Library Service (SBN) .
Ca Foscari's contribution to the collective catalogue consists of more than 900,000 bibliographical records representing books, serials, and other materials (audiovisual, microform and so on).
Please notice that the online catalogue does not contain, or give access to, any full-text document. It contains descriptive information only, i.e. bibliographic items.

How to search the catalogue
Step1: Select libraries and library system
Before searching, select from the box on the bottom left one or more library systems (i.e. : Ca' Foscari University) within the whole Venetian Library System.
For each library system selected further filters can be used (i.e. : Ca' Foscari Scienze del Linguaggio) to limit searches (see the box on the bottom right).
If no library or library system is selected, all libraries within the Venetian Library System will be searched.
Step 2: Search the catalogue
The catalogue can be searched in different ways.
You can:
- Enter the title of a work (or the family name of an author) in exact order beginning with the first word and press the 'LIST' button. You will get a list of titles (or authors) in alphabetical order. Remember to omit initial articles, in any language.
- Enter one or more terms in the Title or Author field and press the 'SUBMIT' button. You will get a list of records containing the terms entered (in the Title or Author field).
- Use the ANY FIELD search to enter further keywords to limit your search or to search at the same time all fields of bibliographic records.
Step 3: Locate searched resources
Browse the result list until you find the bibliographic description of the resource you were searching for. There, in the 'LIBRARY(S)' field, you can see which libraries (among those you selected before) hold that resource. Click on the name of one library to get more information about the resource held by that library (for example, its availability for loan and its shelf mark).
