Evaluation procedure for International Students
International students intending to enrol in First or Second Cycle Degree Programmes can ask for the evaluation of their qualification and school career before starting the official enrolment procedure. The online procedure entails the electronic delivery of the documents required. Students will then receive notice of their full or provisional admission to the chosen degree programme.
For the academic year 2013/2014, the evaluation procedure is available from February 1st, 2013.

Degree programme
International students can apply for evaluation of no more than one degree programme among those proposed by Ca’ Foscari for the current academic year.
For admission to a degree programme, applicants shall be equipped with a number of requirements (qualification, schooling years, etc.), which will be evaluated by the relevant Department Board.
Evaluation procedure
The evaluation procedure includes the following steps:
- online registration procedure;
- filling in the evaluation application available into your Reserved Area: log-in with the username and the password given at the end of the online registration procedure > follow the path Pre-enrollment Evaluation > Foreign Students' Evaluation
Documents required
The university will consider only applications which have been carried out according to the procedure provided for and equipped with all of the following required documents:
- European curriculum vitae format;
- certificate including personal data and any school/academic qualifications; in case of evaluation for a Second Cycle Degree Programme, transcript of records and course descriptions for each exam taken;
- motivation letter.
An Italian language certificate (only for Italian-taught programmes) is advisable. Applicants who are native Italian speakers do not need to produce any certificate. Please be advised that applicants who are not provided with the Italian language certificate can take the Italian language test to be held in early September.
For all the degree courses an English language certificate (minimum level B1) is required. Applicants can find the official list of certifications recognized in the proper web page. For the First Cycle curriculum in Economics and Management, the Second Cycle curriculum in International Management and the Second Cycle curriculum in Economics and Finance a B2 level is required.
For evaluation purposes, the applicant can also produce a self-certificate of any required information. Yet, the original certificates shall be submitted upon enrolment.
Please be advised that in order to be admitted to a Second Cycle Degree Programme, the transcript of records and course descriptions for each exam taken are compulsory.
Deadlines
The procedure for NON-EU citizens residing abroad and for all the other categories of international students is available for Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes, from 1st February 2013 to 31st May 2013. The procedure will be available, for all the international students except for NON-EU citizens residing abroad and for Master's degree programmes, until 31st August 2013.
Until May 31st, 2013 the results of the evaluation procedure will be sent via email every two weeks. After May 31st, 2013 the results of the evaluation procedure will be published in the dedicated webpage of the degree programme.
Please be advised that in case of any successful evaluation, notice of admission to the degree programme does not automatically entail the applicant's enrolment.
Enrolment is anyway subject to submission of all of the required documents, as specified at the end of the evaluation procedure.
Non-EU students residing outside Italy shall submit the pre-enrolment application for the degree course to the Italian Diplomatic Delegation according to the deadlines fixed by each Embassy/Consulate.
Scholarships
International students who will ask for the evaluation of their qualification and school career and complete the above-mentioned evaluation procedure by May 31st, 2013, can be awarded a reduction (up to Euro 2.000,00) in the university tuition fees due for the whole year (except for the minimum enrolment fee, the regional tax on business activities and the tax stamp).
Scholarships will be awarded ex officio to the students concerned, without having to submit further requests to other offices, as long as university funds are available for this initiative.
The beneficiaries of the scholarship cannot take advantage of the above financial benefit in the same academic year.
The benefit will be awarded ex officio for the second year as well, in case the student, who has asked for the evaluation procedure and enrolled in a.y. 2013/2014, has earned by September 30th 2014 at least 42 CFU (from the enrolment date) with a grade point average equal to or higher than 26/30.
The exams taken during previous careers (which concluded with the completion of the degree programme, suspension of or withdrawal from studies) will not be considered for the merit calculation.
University fees
University tuition fees shall be paid in two instalments. Any further information on the amounts are available on the dedicated university website.
Accommodation
International students enrolling at Ca' Foscari can take advantage of the service offered by the regional body for student financial aid - ESU Venezia or the Housing office service offered by Ca’ Foscari University.
