On Sunday December 17th from 9.30am the yearly Santa’s regatta on the Grand Canal organized by Ca’ Foscari took place for the eighth time. Women and men champions and amateurs will challenge each other on traditional Venetian rowing boats, ‘mascarete’, dressed as Santa from San Marco (Pietà) to Ca’ Foscari. A water parade with traditional boats - ‘bissone’ and ‘caorline’ - and dragon boats followed the regatta.
At the end of this special day, the winners received their awards at the Fondaco dei Tedeschi which collaborated to the Christmas initiative.
