There is the app that allows you to view the expenses of hospital companies and one that maps the companies receiving government procurement contracts; there is an app that shows bike sharing services that are available in a city; and the app that shows the beauty of Venetian cities; as well as one that allows to you to easily find car parks. Thanks to Public Administration’s accessible data, everyone can access these services through their smartphones.

The young minds behind the apps are a group of Software Engineering students, enrolled in the Informatics Bachelor's degree programme at Ca’ Foscari. Their achievements will be presented during the Open Administrations week which will take place from 5th until 11th February throughout the country.

The national initiative aims to promote transparency in Public Administration, participation and accountability in both the Public Administration and society.

The iPhone and Android apps designed and created by Ca’ Foscari students were developed within the Veneto Centre of Digital Innovation for Citizens, and allow access to Open Data made available by Public Administration transforming them into accessible services. About 70 students have worked there who have produced about 30 apps, among which 8 have been selected to be presented during the Open Administration Week (Settimana dell’amministrazione aperta) in Veneto region - #SAA2018
