Ca' Foscari and H-Farm shape future professionals of digital management

The partnership between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and H-Farm has been confirmed. With this agreement the first Business School in Italy founded in 1868 and one of the top 200 Universities in the world in the field of Economics joins forces with the innovative company that supports the creation of new business models as well as the transformation and education of young people and Italian businesses from a digital point of view.

Together they have launched a new Bachelor’s Degree programme in Digital Management, taught entirely in English, to shape professionals of digital economy.

New contents, new teaching methods, new location: the course will be held in the H-FARM Campus where the students will be immersed in an innovative and captivating context through this constantly developing project where businesses, start ups and young people meet and accompany each other on a programme where they will be busy producing, constructing and communicating through digital tools and models.

The programme unites Economics, business, digital technology and soft skills studies, and is entirely taught in English. There are 90 available spaces and the tuition fee is fixed at 7,500€ with the possibility to receive financial aid provided by the University and national regulations. The course will take place in H-FARM, which will cover teaching costs. For the new Bachelor's degree programme Ca’ Foscari has recruited 5 new scholars that will be added alongside the other course scholars whom are already teaching at the university.

Activating the University’s collaboration with H-FARM responds to the guidelines promoted by the Ministry of Education regarding the activation of training and degree programmes in close collaboration with local businesses through specific agreements with qualified companies.

Michele Bugliesi, Rector at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, said: «The new degree programme focuses on the fundamental themes of technological and digital transformation and on its internal management in businesses and institutions. It is a complex transformation, that has to be managed from a technical point of view in the economic, managerial and of course informatic fields, but also in the “change management” field, and in the dynamics of the business’ reorganization for the innovation of processes and products. The partnership with H-FARM add value to a programme that is innovative in its contents, and will be innovative in its methods and the context in which it is taught – at the Roncade Campus – with the businesses and the startup companies that work there collaborating actively in educational activities involving students in workshops, experiential workshops and project work. For students this is an unmissable opportunity, offering perspectives of advanced training and professional development of certain success. With this degree programme, the century-old traditions of Ca’ Foscari in economic and managerial education are enriched and extend to face the challenges of digital transformation, on a national and international level.

INNOVATIVE LEARNING THROUGH LECTURES AND PROJECT WORK
The degree programme combines lectures with workshops and experience-laboratories developed with businesses in which students will be able to experiment with their acquired skills. The entire programme is divided into three phases that will take the student from the study phase to their immersion in the world of work.
In the first year of the programme, students will learn the fundamentals of management and digital technology at the level of the economics and business systems. In the second year they will develop technical and managerial skills of e-commerce, computer security, data analytics, the organization of digital businesses, financing a start-up, the digital transformation of mature businesses and how to manage cloud systems.  In the third year students will participate in workshops on software development, computer security, and human centered design, as well as being able to develop their own personal project interactingw with the business network of H-FARM and Ca’ Foscari.

DIGITAL AND ECONOMIC SKILLS
Among the courses of the programme there will be the Lab of software project development
, Marketing Analytics, Design Thinking, Lean Management and Information Security. Students will apply the methods of study that aim to develop both technical understanding and cross-disciplinary skills, namely the knowledge, skills and qualities that help to juggle the various personal and professional situations, making them able to imagine and design adequate solutions for every context.
