Ca’ Foscari will take part in the EWWR - European Week for Waste Reduction the European Commission initiative that will take place from November 18th to 26th. The university will launch three initiatives for students and staff.

The 2017 edition focuses on “Reuse and repair: Give it a new life!” shedding light on the second life of objects and promoting awareness of the environmental, social and economic impact of our choices encouraging alternatives that may last longer and generate less waste.

On Wednesday November 22nd at San Giobbe, the Departments of Economics and Management will organize a day dedicated to circular economy, with activities, a book presentation and meetings, involving firms and associations and the students working on the "Precious Caps" project. A swap party will be organized for the entire day: students and staff will be invited to give and take objects.

On Thursday November 23rd, the University has organized a free guided tour of the recycling plant Ecoricicli Veritas. The initiative is open to Ca’ Foscari students and staff. Participants will meet at the Scientific Campus at 10am and will be back at 12pm. To take part in the visit, you must fill-in the online form on the Sustainable Ca’ Foscari portal.

On Saturday November 25th there will be the National food drive day organized by the Fondazione Banco Alimentare Onlus: many supermarkets around Italy will invite customers to donate food for more fragile persons; an occasion to reflect on one’s own purchasing habits and to make better informed choices. Ca’ Foscari is supporting the initiative encouraging students and staff to become volunteers for one day. To take part in the initiative you must indicate your availability (even just two hours) and your preferred location on the online form by Thursday November 16th.
