The Master’s Degree in “Work, Social Citizenship and Interculturality” shapes specialists for social work, social services and social politics, combining training of high cultural level with training of elevated professional content. During the course, characterised by an interdisciplinary approach and an international perspective, students develop a strong ability to analyse and interpret social phenomena, with particular attention to inequality, social discomfort and the processes of exclusion, the social ‘new rich’ and the vulnerables that emerge from this, the social rights of citizens and transformation of welfare, migration and intercultural relations, the questions of gender and generalisations, and finally participation and active citizenship as elements of social innovation.
Through a series of specific workshops and professional teachings, students will acquire innovative understanding and methodology related to programming, protecting, realizing and evaluating (somewhat complex) social operations of politics and social inclusion, of the social study of individuals, communities, populations, organizations and territories. The 250-hour placement (In italy or abroad), guided by the assistant social supervisors, is an integral part of the training.

Admission process and required competence

This Master's degree programme is of open admission.

Matriculation is subject to the possession of specific curricular requirements and of suitable personal preparation.

If you possess a non-Italian study qualification, the first compulsory step is the pre-evaluation of the qualification: it is sufficient to register in the apply.unive.it portal, choosing the study programme that interests you and loading the required documentation. After around 15 days, the Welcome Unit of the International Office will give you feedback on your application.

If you are a non-EU student resident abroad, the Welcome Unit of the International Office will organize a skype call to replace the admissions test. The appointment for the Skype call will be made through the apply.unive.it portal.
