Abstract To date, cultural heritage data aggregators allow users to retrieve heterogeneous information about artefacts. However, competing sources may offer contradictory information on the same artefacts. Contradictory information is rarely handled by aggregators, and argumentations are unlikely to be processed due to several limitations, namely: arguments are usually recorded in non machine-readable formats, information is not integrated with other sources on the web, there is no shared mechanism for ranking attributions, and data may suffer of Information Quality (IQ) issues over time. Therefore, automatically validating argumentations is still a hard task. Nonetheless, assessing the authoritativeness of sources and evaluating the trustworthiness of cited scholars are key aspects in Humanities research. Semantic web technologies are increasingly adopted to develop hermeneutics-aware tools.  In this seminar, technologies and computer-aided methods to support humanists’ decision-making process when reviewing contradictory sources are addressed.
