Agenda

Recent studies on the work of Alfredo Panzini (1863-1939) and the acquisition of previously unknown autograph materials and correspondence have highlighted Panzini's influence on the linguistic and literary culture of his time and on writers who would become fully representative of the twentieth century, such as Carlo Emilio Gadda and Italo Calvino. This necessary reassessment needs, however, the urgent need to evaluate the relationship between Panzini and European languages ​​and literatures, of which Panzini had a knowledge as extensive as it was selective. Moreover, it is necessary to monitor the status of the international reception of the writer from Bellaria, through the first and most recent translations, as well as the wide circulation and reputation of his works abroad.
