1 - Why transcultural studies?

Prof. Harald Fuess is Professor of Cultural Economic History at Heidelberg University and one of the foremost specialists of Japan in Europe. In his lectures at Ca' Foscari University he outlines the importance of transcultural approaches for Eurasian Studies, its impact on theory and methodology, and present case studies such as treaty ports societies and changing consumer cultures.
