Kick-off International Workshop “Religions, Thoughts, and Health in Asia”

The world has been turned upside down since the outbreak of the COVID-19. However, the pandemic is not the first human experience of the global-scale pandemic in the longer arc of human history, and there were numerous outbreaks of the diseases and pandemics in the history of Asia. This kick-off international workshop, organized by the department of Asian and North African Studies at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, invites scholars in Asian Studies to discuss various issues and questions that intersect religion, thoughts, discourses around health in Asia. The workshop hopes to receive contributions dealing with topics that bring different disciplinary approaches and viewpoints on the theme. This workshop will be one of the many international conferences that the department is going to organize from this year on, and we look forward creating a unique venue that develop the network of knowledge and interactions among scholars of Asian Studies in Europe, Asia, and the North America.
