VENEZIA
Study and application of some industrial reactions catalyzed by homogeneous or heterogeneous catalysts, for the synthesis of industrial organic products. Comprehension of the reaction mechanisms and evaluation of the sustanaibility of the reactions employed. The obtained reaction products will be isolated and characterized by using different analytical techniques.
Industrial Chemistry II
The course consists in the study of some important industrial catalytic reactions as carbonylations, hydrogenations, hydroformylations, etc., in homogeneous and heterogeneous phase so allowing an easier separation of the reaction products from the catalyst. Moreover, a synthesis, involving the above mentioned reactions, will be carried out for the preparation of a fragrance starting from the commercially available 2-ethylthiophene.In the last part of the course students will prepare an anti inflammatory non steroidal drug starting from an alkine.

Lecture notes.
written and oral
The verification of learning is done through an oral exam and discussion of laboratory reports. The student must demonstrate to have learned the topics discussed during the course by answering to the questions questions in a clear and Comprehensive way, and using an appropriate technical-scientific language. It will be important the discussion of the reports to understand how the student is able to work in a chemical laboratory.
Conventional. Frontal lessons.
Laboratory experiments.
