The course is part of the educational activities decided by individual student of the degree in Economics and Business.
Its purpose is to outline the economic determinants of the international market for agricultural products, highlight the organization and structure of the agricultural markets, the trade policies pursued, and provide specific tools for study and management. Instructional goals are the analysis of the supply and demand of agricultural products, the economics of the international trade, the theoretical tools for the study of agricultural trade, such as the food supply balance and the exchange rates, the Italian agri-food balance, the role of international policies for agricultural markets.
1 Knowledge and Understanding.
1.1 Investigating the economic determinants of the demand and supply of agricultural products in the global context.
1.2 Providing the tools for the study of agricultural trade and the Italian agri-food balance.
1.3 Classifying the international policies for agricultural markets and their effects on trade.
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
2.1 Applying the economic analysis to international trade in agricultural products.
2.2 Using the main tools provided for the study of agricultural trade and the Italian agri-food balance.
2.3 Identifying and highlighting the effects deriving from international policies for agricultural markets.
3. Ability to judge
3.1 Abstracting and interpreting the economic model related to international agricultural markets.
3.2 Using of tools designed to explain the structure and evolution of the Italian agro-food balance and the exchange rate.
3.3 Conducting autonomously the study of the international agricultural markets and deepening the analysis through research projects, the elaboration of essays and reports.
Mandatory priority Exams: none.
Prerequisites: basic skills in economics of Economics (micro and macro) and Mathematics (first module). Basic skills in demand and supply models and market forms.

For attending students, the exam can take place in the presence, on a moodle platform, at passing twenty attending students. The test lasts fifteen minutes and consists of thirty multiple choice questions, with four alternatives each. Every correct answer is worth a point. Honors are awarded to those with a score of over twenty-eight. To the test score you can add bonus points, as agreed in class. Otherwise, and for those not attending, the exam consists of open questions, on the whole program of the course.
The course takes place in the presence, following a conventional teaching approach. The study can also be carried out through the Moodle platform in which it is implemented, as well as through the Teacher's Book, all these modalities follow the same approach of the lectures. During the course, participation in conferences, seminars and meetings can also be scheduled, also in online form.
