Course objectives
Plural Spain
Spanish fiction and poetry from modernism to postmodernism in the present era. Through in the analysis of some works by significant authors, we will provide a cultural and literary landscape of the period.
The course includes a survey of Spanish literature of the late twentieth century, an introduction to the history of Spain from the Second Republic to the present day and reading an anthology of poetry and prose anbd a novel by Najat el Hachmi.

The student must also demonstrate knowledge of the main tools to analyse literary texts.
1. Hispanic Modernismo. Rubén Darío, Antonio Machado and Juan Ramón Jiménez. Ramón del Valle-Inclán.
2. Avantgarde an 1927 Generation. Federico García Lorca. Pedro Salinas, Rafael Alberti. Luis Cernuda.

Type of exam
Assessment methods
The exam is done through a written test (in Italian or Spanish). The final written test consists of seven questions in order to ensure the skills acquired in the analysis of texts, knowledge of the political and literary history of Spain and the concepts of literary criticism. During the written exam it is not allowed the use of books, notes, electronic media.
To pass the exam students are required:
-the constant and active participation in lessons (10% of the vote).
-the final written exam (90%):
-3 Short questions about the history, and books of Ceserani and Morelli-Manera (3x2 = 6 points).
-4 Questions about the texts: dues on Anthology, two on the novel Najat el Hachmi, El último patriarch (4x6 = 24)
