1. Capitolo 4 (“Analisi dei processi”) ad esclusione della Legge di Little e del paragrafo 4.6
2. Capitolo 5 (“Progettazione e selezione dei processi nella produzione industriale”) ad esclusione del modello rappresentato dalla figura 5.1 e del paragrafo 5.4
3. Capitolo 10 (“Strategia della supply chain”) ad esclusione delle classificazioni contenute nelle figure 10.1 e 10.2
4. Capitolo 11 (“Gestione strategica della capacità”) ad esclusione dei paragrafi 11.1, 11.2, 11.2.4, 11.3.3
5. Capitolo 12 (“Just-in-time e lean system”) ad esclusione del livellamento dei carichi di stabilimento, della formula relativa al numero di kanban, le quattro regole, dei paragrafi 12.3, 12.4 e 12.5. Leggere i paragrafi 12.3.4 e 12.3.6
6. Capitolo 15 (“Controllo delle scorte”) ad esclusione dei paragrafi 15.4, 15.5.1, 15.6.1, 15.6.2, 15.7.1, 15.10. Studiare i paragrafi 15.10.2 e 15.10.3
7. Capitolo 16 (“Material Requirements Planning”) ad esclusione dei paragrafi 16.2, 16.5.3, 16.5.4, 16.6, 16.7, 16.8 , 16.9

Si consiglia la lettura dei seguenti paragrafi del Capitolo 7 (“Total quality management: orientamento al Six Sigma”): 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 (7.3.3 escluso) e 7.5.
