The course aims to offer a reference frame on some approaches, concepts and topics of human geography, with a special attention to the topic of landscape. In particular, the willing is to promote, on the one hand, the awareness of the complexity concerning the concept of landscape, and, on the other, the value of landscape as cultural heritage.

The course will provide some elements useful to narrow approaches, key concepts and objects of classic and contemporary human geography. The focus is especially brought on the topic of landscape, in relation to the concepts of environment, space, place and territory; then, landscape will be considered as a value and as cultural heritage, also in relation to tourism. Case studies: island landscapes, terraced landscapes, wetland and land reclamation landscapes.
