For starting the study of Albanian language (Albanian language 1), there are no requirements. For the lessons of Albanian Language 2, it is required a competency equivalent to the A2 level. For the lessons of Albanian Language 3 it is expected to know Albanian Language at B1 level of the common European framework.
The module is based on theoretical lessons of Albanian language. It includes the study of the basic elements of phonetics and phonology (phonemes, graphemes, accent, hyphenation); the study of the morphology of names, pronouns, adjectives and all categories associated to them (gender, number, case); the study of the verbal system, with all its categories (person, tense, mood, aspect). It also includes the study of Albanian syntax. In particular, it deals with the formation of simple clauses, such as declaratives, interrogatives, negatives, imperatives and complex and embedded clauses, such as subjunctives, modals, relatives, interrogatives, hypotheticals, finals. Besides phonology, morphology and syntax, this module introduces students to Albanian lexicon, which will gradually developed and strengthened, with particular attention to those forms that reflect historical and cultural evolutionary processes that have invested Albania in recent decades.

The module contents are organized in such a way that they are never repeated in the course of the three years of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme, in order to enable students to access, every year, in different knowledge. They take also into account the presence of Albanian speaking students, for whom the teaching of the language arises as a moment of reflection on the properties and structure of the native language and verification of their ability to develop methods of study.

Language exercises combine to give a practical knowledge of Albanian language, through dictations, conversations, readings, exercises, listening materials.
