Research Areas

Her research areas are innovation studies and organization theory. Her doctoral thesis was focused on the analysis of the mechanisms of novelty generation, drawing on cognitive studies. In her first paper, she provided a comprehensive analysis of the contribution of studies on metaphors to management literature, delving on bibliometric technique and inductive qualitative coding. In her second paper, she empirically examined how entrepreneurs use metaphors in the making of innovation, relying on Behavioural Even Interview Technique (BEI) and Metaphor Identification Procedure (MIP) to elicit metaphors. In the last third chapter of the thesis, she explored conceptual blending processes in designing a new business model. By a mixed method approach, she analysed how the cognitive process of conceptual combination is a key driver in developing and refine innovative business models.
