Alice Lucchini is a PhD student in Ancient Heritage Studies at the University Ca' Foscari of Venice (inter-University PhD programme, in partnership with the University of Udine and the University of Trieste). After a Bachelor degree in Humanities, Cultural Heritage Studies and Philosophy at the University Of Urbino "Carlo Bo", she obtained her master degree in Archaeology at the University of Ca’ Foscari with a thesis on evaluating archaeological deposits of the Arsenale of Venice. She completed the first Course of NAS and took part in several excavations on land and wetland sites. Her main interests are wetlands and alluvial plains archaeology, archaeological wood, historical archaeology, rural landscape, social history and material culture, between Late Antiquity and Modern Age. Her current research concerns the uses of logboats in Po valley's rivers during the Early Medieval period.
