2. Work experience

05/2017 – 08/2018 – Early stage researcher, at the Department of Physics-Chemistry, University of Pavia, Italy. Tasks performed: physical-chemical characterisation of solids of pharmaceutical interest. The research activity focuses mainly on the resolution of problems related to the pre-formulation of drugs: crystalline polymorphism, amorphous content quantification, drug-excipient compatibility, salt and co-crystalline preparation to improve pharmaceutical drug behaviour, using spectroscopic and thermal techniques.

09/2016 – 03/2017 –  Erasmus Internship under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jörg Rademann and Dr. Arkona at Freie Universität Berlin, Institut für Pharmazie, Germany. Tasks performed: application of fragment based screening to detect inhibitors of human USP, performing of biochemical/cellular assays for the inhibitor evaluation. Cell cultures techniques, delivery of the peptides into human tumor cells, fluorescence live cell imaging, cell viability testing. Electroporation. Chemical synthesis of the inhibitors and solid phase peptide synthesis. Basic biochemical techniques: recombinant protein expression in E.Coli, protein purification, chemical derivation of proteins, enzyme assays and immunoblotting.

2014 – 2015 – Pharmacist at “Al Duomo Pharmacy”, Chioggia – Venice, Italy. Tasks performed: galenic preparation of medicines, dispensation of SOP, OTC and drugs with obligatory prescription and organisation of the pharmacy.
