‘Key’ that inhibits molecules involved in cancer spread uncovered

A research team at Ca’ Foscari has selected a new type of miniaturised antibodies that can detect and inhibit the activity of the urokinase human enzyme (uPA), reducing the risk of side effects. The discovery has been patented for use in the pharmaceutical industry.

Sea ice responds synchronously to abrupt climate changes, study finds

A study conducted by Isac and Isp (National Research Council) in collaboration with Ca' Foscari University of Venice and several international partners has reconstructed the evolution of sea ice cover, examining abrupt climate oscillations that occurred during the last Ice Era.

International study shows “posed” smiles improve mood

Two researchers from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Università Magna Graecia di Catanzaro have contributed to a global collaboration coordinated by Nicholas Coles from Stanford University
