Ca’ Foscari University of Venice opens a new representative office abroad, in Azerbaijan, the second office in the world of the venetian university.

The office was opened in Baku’s renowned Landmark Building. At the inauguration, guests included Rector of Ca’ Foscari University Michele Bugliesi, the Vice Rector Tiziana Lippiello and Umberto Boeri, Vice Ambassador of Italy in Baku.

Michele Bugliesi, Rector of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice: “The Ca’ Foscari Baku Office is part of a broader initiative we have launched to strengthen the university’s presence and engagement abroad. Like all modern universities and research institutions, Ca’ Foscari is committed to the process of internationalization, for it is only by becoming more connected to the world that we will be able to realize in full our academic mission in research and education and maximize our contribution to society. One of the most ambitious projects of our internationalization strategy is the Ca’ Foscari University Offices in the World”.

The first of these offices
– the Ca’ Foscari Suzhou Office – opened in February 2017 on the campus of our institutional partner Suzhou University and has proven how well this kind of enterprise can work.

The launch of second Office in the World, in Baku, is the result of our partnership with United Cultures, a well-known cultural organization that works closely with the Embassy of Italy. Like its predecessor in Suzhou, the office is intended to facilitate a wide spectrum of activities, ranging from collaborative research involving scholars from both Ca’ Foscari and the academic institutions of Azerbaijan to the organization of exhibitions and events in Baku thus contributing to the rich cultural landscape of the city.
