Ca’ Foscari students will have until October 4 to register for the “Erasmus in Venice” program, an initiative born from a special agreement between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and IUAV University of Venice. The goal is to give students from the aforementioned Venetian universities the opportunity to enrich their education with courses delivered by other institutions, while still remaining in Venice. The students are also exempted from paying the enrolment fee for the single courses and they can accumulate ECTS credits to add to their academic transcript.
Registration for classes in the second semester will open from February 3 to 6, 2020.

By 2020, thanks to the Study in Venice network, more courses and two other educational institutions (the Academy of Fine Arts and the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory), will be added to the Venetian Erasmus program. Study in Venice was born in 2017 with the support of the City of Venice, to show the willingness of Ca’ Foscari University, IUAV, the Academy of Fine Arts and the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory to cooperate in the development of new joint projects.

But what do former “Erasmus in Venice” students think about the initiative? Let’s hear it from them

“What made me enter this program was my passion for the world of fashion and my desire to attend a fashion design class at IUAV. My experience was truly positive, as it allowed me to understand my goals and true interests, while experiencing two different educational realities at once.  I think the Erasmus in Venice is an excellent opportunity for those who have a strong passion or an inclination for subjects that their university doesn’t offer and for those who want to add something special to their cultural baggage. It definitely requires some degree of commitment and perseverance, but it proved to be a one-of-a-kind opportunity that might help me open a lot of doors in the future!”
Benedetta, Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Performing Arts Management student (Ca’ Foscari)

“I was already over with all my finals and in the process of writing my thesis when I started tutoring a refugee student who had just enrolled at IUAV. The boy didn’t speak any Italian, only English, and he bore the suffering caused by the issues in his native country. Of course, he was already being followed by cultural mediators and therapists, but personally, I felt like I was not sufficiently prepared to deal with his situation, so I decided to attend a class on asylum-seekers and refugees offered by Ca’ Foscari, whose program seemed very interesting and fitting to my purpose. Of course, the class was extremely feasible even for those who had no previous knowledge on the subject, thanks to the ability of the professor to explain things in a straightforward and clear manner. I liked the class so much I decided to add it to my study plan, which was made possible by the Erasmus in Venice initiative. My experience was absolutely positive and enriching, I would definitely recommend it to other students.
