The annual Music Festival “Musicaƒoscari” is back with a special edition. This year, the festival wants to celebrate the many different musical experiences that have characterized the life of the Ca’ Foscari community so far, as 2018 marks the 150th  year since the foundation of the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. The 40 year-old Orchestra and Chorus , the Vocal Ensemble specialized in Baroque and Renaissance polyphony, the experimental music labs and the Jazz Festival: this edition of the Musicaƒoscari has an appointment for every musical taste and interest.

The 2018 season of musicaƒoscari will include two jazz concerts with international guests, a new production commissioned by Ca’ Foscari to young emerging artists, an event dedicated to the voice with a musical and a philosophical approach, and a concert of students who took part in workshops and labs throughout the year.

The concerts will take place in the Auditorium Santa Margherita and will be free of charge (subject to availability).

The season will open on Sunday October 14th at 9pm with The Bad Plus. The jazz trio from the United States consists of  founding members Reid Anderson (bass) and Dave King (drums) and new member Orrin Evans (piano).
