Covid-19: Ca' Foscari's measures from 7 April

LESSONS
Lessons for undergraduate and graduate courses, professional master’s programmes, and PhD programmes will be delivered as follows. 

Dual mode (in person and online):

  • first-year courses of Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees;

  • laboratories (any year);

  • some courses of the second and third year of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees that are attended by fewer than 25 students, according to the instructions that will be provided by the Teaching Committees;
  • lessons and language practising labs for all years (including second and third years) of some courses of study of the Department of Linguistic and Cultural Studies and of the Department of Asian and North African Studies.

Online:

  • other courses, including professional master’s programmes (first and second levels).

For information on timetables and in-person or online lessons, please refer to course information pages on the university website or to the Agenda section in the MyUniVE app. Please refer to the remote and dual teaching webpage for details.

The extension of the dual mode to other courses of study will be promptly communicated by the university through its official communication channels.


BOOKING SEATS IN A CLASSROOM

In-person attendance requires booking. All in-person lessons will be delivered in dual mode and therefore will also be available online. 

Please use the online booking system or the MyUniVE app, which is available in the Android and Apple app stores.  

Classes can be booked as early as seven days in advance and until the start of the lesson. Please refer to the remote and dual teaching webpage for details and to our booking FAQs.


STUDY ROOMS

Study rooms reopen on 12 April.
Ca’ Foscari is now offering 300 extra study places in 6 study rooms (COVID-19 safety measures apply). Seats can be booked on the MyUniVE app. 

Bookings are available for: Aula Magna di San Giobbe, 181 places; Sala Colonne di San Sebastiano, 21 places; San Basilio, aula 1A and aula 1H ; Rio Nuovo, aula Studio; Via Torino, Sala conferenze G. Zanetto.

LIBRARIES
Access to libraries and services requires booking a place and/or time slot via the Affluences app or the Affluences website. 

For further information on the number of places available and on the time slots that can be booked, please refer to the webpage of each library: BALI, BAS, BAUM, BEC, CFZ.

In order to enter the library you will need to show your CartaConto (university student card). If you have enrolled recently and have not yet received your CartaConto, you can access the library by requesting a temporary card.


INTERNSHIPS

Internships will continue to be carried out in person, in a mixed format or online, depending on what the host organisation requires.


STUDENT DESKS AND STUDENT SERVICES

Student desks and student services must be booked.


OFFICE HOURS FOR TEACHING STAFF
Some in-person office hours will also be available (booking is required). Students should contact individual professors and teaching staff directly and in advance for information regarding this possibility. Information concerning office hours is available on the teaching staff’s personal pages.


TECHNICAL ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF (PTA)
Technical administrative staff can resume “smart” working up to 70% (i.e. 7 days smart working and 3 days in-person for every 10 working days).
