Ca' Foscari University has given French economist Jean-Michel Grandmont the title of Honorary Member of academic staff. The ceremony has been held on Friday, December 16, at 2.30pm, in Aula Baratto.

Director of The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (CREST-INSEE) and professor at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, Grandmont is a foreign member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and was president of the Econometric Society (1990). His contributions relate to economic theory, monetary theory, the dynamics of the economy, unemployment and the relationship between microeconomics and macroeconomics. Among his major publications are the Money and value monographs (1983) and Nonlinear economic dynamics (1987).
