Honorary Degree to Prof. Stephen Orgel

Ca' Foscari University of Venice will present an honorary Degree in European, American and Postcolonial Language and Literature to Stephen Orgel, Reynolds Professor in humanities at Standford University. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday June 21st 2017 at 11am, at the Aula Magna Silvio Trentin in Ca' Dolfin. The degree conferral is motivated by the prestigious curriculum vitae of Prof. Orgel, a foremost scholar with a long and prestigious interdisciplinary career, centered on the historical and political context of Renaissance arts: literature, theatre, visual arts and book history. His ideas brought a great contribution to the scientific and cultural debate on Early Modern period, on which many scholars from the Department are actively working.
