Ca’ Foscari shares its work and its studies of its researchers through a series of interviews on #womeninresearch on CafoscariNEWS, with the idea of giving a voice to the female researchers of Ca’ Foscari and show appreciation for their role and their work. We have already met Giulia Fiorani, a chemist who aims to contribute to the transition towards more sustainable methods of production and consumption; Susanne Franco who studies the history of dance using new approaches to historiography and anthropology; Irene Mammi, who analyses different aspects of public health and helps to address political decisions for communal well being; Anna Di Bartolomeo, who contributes to constructing a new narrative on immigration; Caterina Cruciani, researcher in the field of behavioral finance, where empathy, emotions, trust and interpersonal relations could change financial consulting.

Their voices are just first in the #womeninresearch series, which will continue talking about female researches for the whole year, where you can comment, share on social media, and follow the hashtag #womeninresearch.

This is one of many initiatives that Ca’ Foscari organises in order to eradicate gender inequalities. From the website where roles have been defined including the feminine counterparts, to daily initiatives and events, to lectures and to the researchers where we deepen the themes related to legality, equality and stereotypes about the role and image of women present in various aspects of both Italian and international society and culture.

Today, March 8th, the registration for the MOOC on ‘Language, gender identity and Italian language’ will be held by professor Giuliana Giusti.
On March 27th, the LEI- Centre for Women’s Leadership events will kick off: the Career Service has organised a talk, ‘Women & Business’ to promote a vision of female entrepreneurship and a reflection on the role and skills of women who occupy top positions in the world of work. It will be at 10.30am in Aula Magna at the Economics campus.

All the Ca’ Foscari initiatives will be part of the Gender Report ('Bilancio di Genere'), an important action for the promotion of structural changes in the university to support gender equality.
