Ca’ Foscari is the first Italian University to join Imiscoe, the largest European network of scholars in the field of migrations and integration, with 45 centers and over 700 researchers involved.

Reviewed and approved during the network’s last conference, the application was presented by a team of Ca’ Foscari researchers working for Social Innovation, an interdisciplinary research team which was established in occasion of the Research for Global Challenges initiative (www.unive.it/teams), comprised of  60 scholars coordinated by professors Stefano Campostrini and Sabrina Marchetti.

“We want to strenghten the point of view of the scholars in the field of Mediterranean Europe migrations, in a network born in northern Europe and very much rooted in it – said Francesca Campomori, Political Science researcher, expert on migrations and social policies and new member of the Imiscoe board of directors – bringing competences and research interests in relevant fields like migrant reception, policies for migrants, domestic work and multilevel governance.”

For these Ca’ Foscari researchers, joining the network will give them the opportunity to develop new projects, expand the scope of scientific collaborations, present and spread their results in the most important conferences on the topic of migration, integration and  social cohesion and, lastly, to strengthen the impact of these researches on European social policies. Furthermore, Imiscoe organizes training activities and grants awards to young scholar and PhD students.
