The Departments of Economics and Management, together with the University Library Services, have taken out a subscription to the Bloomberg Terminal software, allowing students to consult and process data, analytics and market fluctuations in real time - tools used by finance professionals to make informed decisions on investments. The lab will also be used to organize certified training sessions for students, with Bloomberg’s remote support.

The Bloomberg Terminal is a software platform that provides real-time and historical data, market moving news and analytics to help leading companies and professionals worldwide  The service also features execution platforms for every asset class, research and a global network to communicate securely and reliably.

Ca’ Foscari is currently  the only Italian state university that has a Bloomberg Financial Lab on campus, providing its students with experiential learning in the classroom.

The lab is situated inside the Library of Economics - BEC, which has been specially equipped with 15 technologically advanced workstations, two for each Bloomberg Terminal, with an additional workstation for professors and a separated computer, located right inside the library.

The software provides services such as financial data analytics, stock quotations, trendsconcerning interest and change rates, in addition to the possibility of using the platform for research and as a global network, to transmit data safely.

The university’s subscription to the Bloomberg Terminal will provide students and professors with a precious resource. It will enable students to become familiar with tools used in financial services, reinforcing classroom theory, while professors can use it to further their own research.

“Thanks to this prestigious partnership with Bloomberg, we are now able to provide a new and important tool to the students of the Economic Campus – stated Ca’Foscari Rector, Prof. Michele Bugliesi - The possibility of accessing global financial data adds another layer of quality to our offer, making it up to par with those of the most important Schools of Management and Economics in the world. Thanks to the the Bloomberg Lab, the San Giobbe Economic Campus can elevate the quality of its courses, by providing a number of services and activities that help stimulate a critical approach to the study of economic systems and a deeper awareness of the international context”
