His main interests are on pattern recognition, computer vision, graph-theory and game-theory with applications in clustering, medical imaging, scene understanding and behavior analysis.
Sebastiano Vascon joined the ECLT in January 2016 to work on the analysis of social signals and contextual informations. He has finished his PhD in December 2015 at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia of Genova under the supervision of prof. Murino. During the PhD he mainly worked in the field of medical imaging, nanoscience and behavior analysis for video-surveillance using game-theoretic models, graph-methods and computer vision. He has been a visiting student at the ETH Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Schindler and Dr. Leal Taixe where he worked on game-theoretic models for multi-object tracking and video segmentation. Previously he studied Computer Science at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice where he received the BSc degree in 2009 and the MSc degree cum laude in 2012 under the supervision of prof. Pelillo and prof. Torsello. He spent 6 months at the University College of London under the Erasmus project as a part of his MSc. During his career he published on peer-reviewed international conferences and journals and he served as a reviewer in the field of computer vision and pattern recognition.
