Short Bio

Valentina Mameli is Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics, and researcher at ECLT. She obtained a Master Degree in Mathematics (2008) and the PhD (2012) in Mathematics and Scientific Computing at the University of Cagliari. She held a visiting research position at the Statistical Laboratory and Centre for Mathematical Sciences of the University of Cambridge (UK). She worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Padova (2012-2013), the University of Cagliari (2013-2014) and the University of Venice (2015-2017). In ECLT she participates in the research of the BLOOM project developing statistical procedures for high dimensional data (features selection, cluster analysis for binary data, model validation techniques) and building predictive statistical models for large and complex chemical datasets.
