Achille Giacometti is currently Professor of Condensed Matter Physics at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He obtained his Laurea in Physics from the University of Padua and his PhD in Physics from Purdue University. Before joining the Faculty of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, he has been Marie Curie Fellow at KFA-FZ in Jülich (Germany) and post-doc at SISSA in Trieste. His current research interests span a number of topics in Statistical Soft Matter, including patchy colloids, polymers, liquid crystals and proteins.
