Short Bio

Flavio Romano is Associate Professor in Physics at Ca' Foscari  University of Venice. After obtaining his PhD in Rome under the supervision of Prof Sciortino, with a thesis on the phase behaviour of pathcy particles investigated with numerical simulations, he moved to Oxford. There, he mainly studied nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) simulating their behaviour in nanotechnological and biological settings. His current research interests lay in soft matter systems with anisotropic interactions, such as elongated colloids, biological polymers such as DNA and proteins, as well as patchy colloids
