VEiL project's progresses presented in Australia at IKUWA6

In a few weeks, VEiL project's most recent progresses will be presented in Australia (Fremantle, Perth, WA) at IKUWA6, the Sixth International Congress on Underwater Archaeology, the major four-yearly event in the fields of Coastal, Marittime and Underwater archaeology (26 November-2 December 2016).

PI Traviglia will co-chair a session on Scientific techniques, use of digital platforms, and application of new technology in maritime archaeology. Within it, she will present the most recent progresses of the VEiL Project in a paper titled 'Sensing tidal landscapes: artificial intelligence and computer vision methods for underwater archaeological heritage in shallow waters', focusing on the application of archaeological Remote sensing object detection techniques to the suburban space of Aquileia currently lying under the tidal waters of the Grado Lagoon.
