'Archaeologists from Space' is back!

Training in Remote sensing archaeology for primary and secondary schools starts again

Dr Arianna Traviglia and colleague Dr Claudio Silvestri (DAIS, UniVe) are again visiting primary schools to bring around the 'Archaeologists from Space' initiative. Next week they will visit the Primary School On. Visentin in Postioma (Treviso) as part of the initiative's activities.

The young students will be introduced to the principles of Remote Sensing archaeology, and will learn about detecting buried archaeological sites using satellite imagery. As usual Google Earth will be used during the session to pinpoint buried sites around the world.

The BAS (Scientific Area Library) of the University Ca' Foscari of Venice will once again collaborate to the organisation of the initiative by providing the laptops used by the students.
