This has been Ciset's core business ever since the International Centre for Studies on Tourism Economics was set up in 1991, as a result of a partnership between Ca’Foscari University Venice, the Veneto Region and the Italian Touring Club.

Ciset is a member of the Business Council and of the Statistics Committee of UNWTO (United Nations’ World Tourism Organisation), a founding member of INRouTe (a network of international experts on Sub-National Measurement and Economic Analysis of Tourism), a member of IFITT (International Federation of Information Technologies and Tourism) and of the European Commission’s group of experts for ETIS (European Tourism Information System for Sustainable Management).
Ciset has a long-standing relationship with the Bank of Italy and has contributes to designing their Survey on inbound and outbound relationship in Italy.
