Professional Master’s Programmes at 1st, 2nd or Executive level are one-year courses with a high vocational content involving sectoral experts, lecturers and enterprises. They are intended for recent graduates as well as for professionals wishing to enhance existing competences or acquire new skills that will allow them to progress in their careers.

Study at Ca' Foscari and find somewhere to live with the help of the Housing Office, which finds accommodation for students in subsidized university housing and private apartments.


The Professional Master’s Programmes involve an internship with a company or body based on a specific training project with a high vocational content.

Final exam and diploma

At the end of the programme and internship, in order to be awarded your Professional Master’s diploma you will be required to take a final exam involving a work project.

Access requirements

To enrol on a 1st level Professional Master’s programme you will need a bachelor’s degree while to enrol on a 2nd level Professional Master’s programme you will need a master’s degree.

Applicants with qualifications obtained abroad can also participate in the Professional Master’s selection procedure provided their qualifications are equivalent to the Italian qualification requested for access to the programme in terms of level, duration and contents.

You may not enrol in more than one Italian or foreign university or in university institutes or similar structures or in different study programmes held by the same university.

If you are enrolled in a study programme and you wish to enrol in another programme that does not contemplate enrolment in multiple courses, you may either suspend your first programme in compliance with the regulations in force in that country or university or withdraw from your studies before enrolling in the second programme

How to partecipate

To enrol on one of Ca’ Foscari’s Professional Master’s Programmes you will need to pass a selection procedure after taking part in a Call for Applications. The selection procedure is completely online and involves the following steps:

Enter your name and birth date, place of residence and/or domicile, if necessary.

After registering you will be assigned a temporary User Name and Password (active from the following day) allowing you to access your Personal Area for the next phase of enrolment.

If you already have login details to the Personal Area (for example, if you are a former student of Ca’ Foscari), you can skip this step and go straight to the following step.

To participate in the selection procedure you must submit your application before the deadline specified in the Call for Applications for the Professional Master’s programme concerned.

Go to your Personal Area and choose the type of programme (1st or 2nd level) followed by the name of the Professional Master’s programme in which you wish to enrol.

Remember to attach the following to your application:

  • self-certification confirming that you have the necessary qualifications;
  • curriculum vitae;
  • photocopy of a valid ID document;
  • any other documents that may be requested for admission to your chosen Professional Master’s programme.

If you are not an Italian national and/or your qualifications are issued by a country other than Italy you will be contacted by the Welcome Unit at the International Office in order to finalize your enrolment on the Professional Master’s programme. Your matriculation will be carried out by the back office once the following documents have been uploaded: 

  • Diploma Supplement or, in the case of qualifications obtained in a non-EU country, a copy of your diploma translated and legalized in Italian or English together with a “Declaration of Value” (“Dichiarazione di valore in loco”) issued by the Italian consulate/embassy in the country that issued the diploma or certification issued by an official international body or by an ENIC/NARIC centre
  • photocopy of your ID or passport (non-EU nationals);
  • study visa (if you have one);
  • curriculum vitae;
  • tax code (if you have one);
  • residence permit (if you have one).

The Welcome Unit reserves the right to contact candidates in order to check the original documents. It can also provide you with the necessary support in requesting a visa, residence permits, tax code and in registering with INPS (the Italian Health service) as well as with information about the University and settling in.

Tuition fees

Tuition fees are paid in two instalments:

  1. The first instalment must be paid when you matriculate together with the 16-euro revenue stamp and makes your enrolment official;
  2. The second instalment is to be paid at a later date.

Go to the “Payment” section in your Personal Area to choose your preferred payment method:

Click the “Pay online” button and choose your preferred payment method:

  • credit card using one of the banking institutions proposed;
  • bank transfer (home banking): find and select your bank from the list to proceed with payment.

Click on the "Payment Advice note" button and print the payment advice note to be handed in to one of the authorized undertaking or credit institutions belonging to the PagoPA system (an electronic payment system mandatory for all Italian Public Administrations).

The payment will be automatically recorded in our management system soon after the date of the actual payment. The amounts and deadlines for payment of instalments can be found in the single webpages of the Professional Master’s programmes.
