Presentation

Established in 1999, this Specialist Master’s Programme is designed to produce new, high-level professionals who are expert in immigration phenomena and intercultural relations: professionals who are destined to work in public institutions, in private businesses and in the service sector, and who will be called upon to develop counselling services, placed in planning and design roles, conduct research and implement solutions.

This programme also aims to update, improve and retrain current professionals active in schools and in all varieties of cultural, social and health services, providing them with specialised skills and the cultural and professional preparation necessary to meet new challenges these immigrant flows present.

Professional profile

This Specialist Master’s Programme is designed for graduates who wish to be employed as immigration specialists operating within public administration, local health units, businesses, the third sector, social cooperatives or trade unions, or those who intend to focus on research relating to immigration issues.

Moreover, it is designed for social, cultural and health care workers dealing with services with foreign users (psychologists, sociologists, social workers, health care operators, nurses, midwives, linguistic and cultural mediators, intercultural centres and libraries assistants, third sector operators), who are interested in acquiring a sound knowledge of immigration.

This Specialist Master’s Programme is also designed for educators who wish to acquire an adequate grounding in immigration issues and for judicial system operators (working within ‘receiving’ facilities, centres for refugees and asylum seekers).
