Meeting with Andrea Nanetti

How can Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning put themselves at the service of the Cultural Heritage?

This is one of the questions that BA students discussed during the meeting with Professor Andrea Nanetti, Associate Professor at the School of Art, Design and Media of Nanyang Technological University.

Knowing where we come from allows us to better understand who we are e how we can influence what we want to become.

The approach of Mr. Nanetti offers a combination of different research methodologies (artistic, design, academic) based on art, culture and heritage: these disciplines are the driving force of a new multidisciplinary science, the Science Heritage, through which we can study the past, understand the present and interpret the future, with the aim of protecting our cultural heritage.

Today, these data are increasingly available in a unique digital system and, thanks to the machine learning algorithms, we should be able to face the great challenges of the future, through the reinterpretation of the past.
