The neurobiology of Greatness

A new lecture by Filippo Ingaro about  well-being and self-awareness.

On March 7 we hosted Dr. Filippo Ongaro for a new lecture of the H for Human Foundation focused on well-being and self-awareness.

What factors influence our health?

Genetics, the environment in which we live, virtuous and healthy behaviour are all elements that help to keep us in shape; but what regulates our awareness towards a happy and healthy life?

Nutrition, physical activity, inner work and integration: these are the 4 fundamental elements that, according to Ongaro, lead to a "full" life.

Life is not simply what happens to us. To get the most out of it we have to work on ourselves. This gradually leads to a change in the quality of the responses and interpretations we give to life's events and to being happier and happier.

Neuroscience and positive psychology have amply demonstrated that the set of resources that a person can use to best meet life's challenges can be built and perfected over time. Certainly, health is a fundamental resource for a better life. A perfectly functioning body and mind provide us with countless more tools to act in life than a sick organism. But even that's not enough to give us a better chance of living to the full. What is needed is the right psycho-emotional set-up and the right habits because they lead to the expression of a strong character, which makes us able to fall and get up, but also to enjoy deeply the journey of life.
