Supplementary year students

Students enrolled in the second or successive supplementary year of their studies in the academic year 2017/2018 should refer to the tuition fee table below:

The regional tax for financial aid and stamp duty must be added to the tuition fees listed above.

Fixed fee rates for non-EU students without an ISEE valid for financial aid

Non-EU students residing abroad in countries in the official list of developing countries drawn up by MIUR every year are entitled to a 50% reduction in the flat rate given above.

The tuition fees listed above do not apply to students with a disability rated at 66 percent or above or with a disability recognised under article 3 paragraph 1 of the Italian Law of 5 February 1992, no. 104, who are only required to pay stamp duty and the regional tax for financial aid.

NB: If you are enrolled in your first supplementary year and you have an ISEE below 30,000 EUR and you have acquired at least 25 ECTs (credits effectively registered in your student’s record book) between 11 August 2016 and 10 August 2017, you will be eligible to pay the tuition fees introduced by the "Student Act", which are listed below:

  • ISEE from 0 to 13,000 EUR: all-inclusive tuition fee of 200.00 EUR
  • ISEE from 13,001 to 25,500 EUR: all-inclusive tuition fee ranging from 200.00 EUR to 1,312.00 EUR;
  • ISEE from 25,501 EUR to 30,000 EUR: all-inclusive tuition fee ranging from 1,312,00 EUR to 1,530.00 EUR.

We will be providing a tuition fee calculator so you can work out exactly how much you will be required to pay.

The regional tax for financial aid (amount is currently being established by the Regione Veneto) and stamp duty must be added to all-inclusive tuition fees.

To obtain a reduction in the all-inclusive tuition fee, you must meet the following conditions:

  • you must have completed your enrolment in academic year 2017/2018, by paying the first instalment of your tuition fees by the administrative deadlines laid down for the academic year 2017/2018;
  • you must have requested ISEE certification for financial aid by 30 September 2017 (or by 20 December 2017 by paying a penalty surcharge of 50.00 EUR) and have uploaded your request to your Personal Area by 30 September 2017 (by 20 December 2017 if you transferred from another university/Department or by 31 March 2018 if you withdrew from your final examination);
  • if you are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree programme you must not have another degree, either under the old system (even prior to DM 509/1999) or under the new system, whether obtained in Italy or abroad, or a diploma issued by the Conservatory/Fine Arts Academy, or a three-year first-level diploma issued under Italian law no. 508/1999;
  • if you are enrolled in a master’s degree programme, you must not have another degree obtained prior to DM 509/1999, specialist degree, or master’s degree, obtained either in Italy or abroad, a diploma issued by the Conservatory/Fine Arts Academy, or a two-year second level diploma issued under Italian law no. 508/1999;
  • you must not still be enrolled in a degree programme under the old system prior to DM no. 509/1999.

1st instalment

The first instalment for all students enrolled in the second or successive supplementary year is 1,134.00 EUR. This amount includes: 

  • the regional tax for financial aid (amount is currently being established by the Regione Veneto);
  • stamp duty of 16.00 EUR;
  • tuition fee.

N.B. The regional tax for financial aid is calculated in proportion to the ISEE indicator for financial aid declared by the student. The actual amount to be paid by students will be worked out after they have submitted the following declarations (deadline for submission is 30 September 2017 or 20 December 2017 paying a penalty surcharge of 50.00 EUR):

  • request for entitlements to be compiled and uploaded in your Personal Area;
  • ISEE for University financial aid.

The first instalment should be paid by 30 September 2017.

Penalty surcharge

Late payment involves the following penalty surcharges:

  • 50.00 EUR for payment of the first instalment from 1 October 2017 to 30 October 2017;
  • 200.00 EUR for payment of the first instalment from 31 October 2017 onwards.

2nd instalment

The second instalment is the difference between the first instalment and the total amount to be paid. These calculations take place in April 2018 and once completed an announcement will be published on the University homepage.

Afterwards you can check to see what your payment status is in your Personal Area.

An email informing you of your payment status will be sent your official university email address (studentnumber@stud.unive.it).

The second instalment should be paid by 15 May 2018.

Penalty surcharge

Late payment involves the following penalty surcharges:

  • 50.00 EUR for the payment of the second instalment from 16 May 2018 to 15 June 2018;
  • 200.00 EUR for the payment of the second instalment from 16 June 2018 onwards.

Withdrawal or loss of student status

Withdrawal or loss of student status involves payment of the full amount of the maximum tuition and losing the right to an eventual refund.

If you submit your withdrawal request by 28 February 2018 you will not be required to pay the second instalment but nor will you be entitled to a refund of the first instalment paid for enrolment in the academic year 2017/2018.

Students graduating in the autumn/extraordinary session

If you have paid the first instalment for the new academic year and you graduate in the autumn session (October - December) or in the extraordinary session (February - April) of the previous year, you will be automatically refunded this amount (minus stamp duty and the regional tax for financial aid) in the summer period by payment onto your University Multiservice Card.

Tax relief for tuition fees

You can deduct the expenses resulting from enrolment in university programmes when making your income statement. Deductible expenses include tuition fees for students enrolling on Bachelor’s Degree Programmes or Master’s Degree Programmes.

Monitoring payment status

Log on to your Personal Area in www.unive.it (select Diritto allo Studio e tasse > Pagamenti) to check:

  • status of payments;
  • amount due for second instalment, available from April 2018.
