International counseling

The COUNSELin(G)ternational service provides to international students enrolled in Degree programmes a counseling service where they can share their opinions, their university experiences and ask their questions.

The Counselors support international students with informative and academic orientation, facilitate cooperation between professors and university offices, and aim to create an international multicultural community.

Service addressees

The service addresses the following international students enrolled at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice:

  • degree seekers;
  • enrolled in a Double/Joint Degree.

What it provides

The Counselor will help you in Italian and English with: 

  • information and advice to newly-enrolled international students;
  • tutoring and guidance related to administrative and academic procedures-see Tutoring Resources;
  • support in the relationships with the university and the teaching staff: support with bureaucratic and administrative procedures, acting as an interface with the university administration, the secretariats and the teaching staff;
  • counselors' desk: a place where you can talk about your academic- or administrative- related difficulties and to report any critical situations;
  • focus groups and events: regular meetings with international students. 

Multimedia tools

The Tutoring Unit has created a series of virtual tools to support you in your academic career.
These tools include two didactic modules, devoted to improving your study method and soft skills, and developed as a series of 3D videos, featuring avatars and set in Venetian locations. It is also possible to download and print out some additional research material.
Access to these contents is free. In order to watch the videos, you must log in by entering your matriculation number and university password.

Study-support guides 

As part of the Active Listening activities offered to Ca’ Foscari students, the Tutoring Unit organizes six meetings aimed at helping you increase your self-awareness and improve your abilities. During these activities you will be provided with notions and methods to help you live your studies to the fullest. 

The meetings will be held in Italian, English-speaking students can be provided with support by the Counselors.

How to participate

To take part in these meetings online reservation is required. Each meeting is open to a maximum of 25 students, 10 is the minimum number of participants. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to your address. 

Face-to-face interviews with the project coordinator can also be provided for the whole duration of this project. 

International degree-seeking students, enrolled at Ca’ Foscari University, must contact the International Counseling Service ( A support in English can be provided by the Counselors, in cooperation with the project coordinator.

6/12/2017 - School of Hard Rock

The temple of rock music open its doors to Ca’ Foscari students.

The International Counseling service and Hard Rock Cafe Venezia are organizing the “School of Hard Rock: the Story of Rock”, a trip to the center of Music through memorable songs, success stories, and the historical moments and characters which played an essential role in the world of modern music.

Let’s meet on Wednesday 6th December, at 9am, at the Hard Rock Cafe Venezia!

Participation is free (lunch included), but subject to places’ availability (30 places available).
Reservation required by November 27. Book your place .
