Michelle Steinbeck SWITZERLAND

Michelle Steinbeck is writer, curator, and editor-in-chief of the Fabrikzeitung. She writes stories, poems, and theatre plays, columns and reports. Her first novel, Mein Vater war ein Mann an Land und im Wasser ein Walfisch (2016), translated in English and Italian, was among the finalists for the Deutscher Buchpreis and the Schweizer Buchpreis. In 2018 she published the collection of poems Eingesperrte Vögel singen mehr. She is completing her trilogy Die Chroniken von Dornach for the Neues Theater of Dornach. She received scholarships for the Literarisches Colloquium of Berlin, the Swiss Institute of Rome and the Cité des Arts of Paris. This year she is living between Basel, Paris, Tuscany and Hamburg. 

The event is part of the Rassegna Suisse Pride - Venezia.
