Karin Andersen was born in Burghausen in 1966 and graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna in 1990. Her works have been shown internationally, in venues like Guidi & Schoen in Genoa, Artists Space in New York, Haus der Kunst in Munich and she has been involved in artistic cooperation programs and residencies (L’Europe d’Art d’Art, Niort, France 1990; HEART, Helsinki; BoCS Art, Cosenza, Italy and more). Together with Roberto Marchesini she authored the book Animal Appeal, uno studio sul teriomorfismo (2004). In 2006 she began her activity in the field of video/film/animation, creating short films and music videos. In collaboration with the Italian novelist Gianluca Di Dio she is developing her first feature film. She has also made visuals for performing art projects and philosophic-scientific publications. Andersen’s works have received numerous recognitions such as the Maretti Art Prize (2005).
