This Professional Master’s Program is designed to interpret and provide the best possible responses to recent trends in the Italian real estate sector, which is distinguished by a number of features specific to Italy. In fact, the future of the construction industry in Italy will be shaped by the need to reuse the existing building stock rather than construct on undeveloped land.
In order to develop adaptive reuse projects for abandoned industrial and artisanal sites and for old buildings, to regenerate run-down neighbourhoods in historic centres rather than in the suburbs, and to revitalise abandoned rural settlements, we need to assess the impact of real estate investments in social and environmental terms, and not just in economic and financial terms: in other words, we need a responsible real estate sector meeting the principles of sustainability.
The aim is to train new professionals capable of valorising Italy’s vast building stock, both private and public, much of which has been abandoned, and of using an innovative approach to tackle the various issues connected to its management.
Train professionals capable of drawing upon innovative cross-disciplinary competences in order to manage the valorisation processes of public and private building stock, and to resolve the connected issues, while assessing the social and environmental impact of such processes.
